Eastern Valley Electric Awarded Two New Senior Housing Projects with VanMar Constructors
Jul 31, 2026

Eastern Valley Electric is excited to announce the start of two new BC Builds senior housing developments in Coquitlam with VanMar Constructors. These projects mark our first partnership with VanMar, and we’re proud to have been awarded the full electrical scope on both developments.

Our team will be responsible for the complete electrical installation, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security and access control systems, as well as all low-voltage communication infrastructure. By providing a comprehensive electrical package, we’re able to simplify coordination for our client and ensure every system is designed and installed to work seamlessly together.

290 Laval Square

This development consists of a three-storey, 42-unit senior housing building over a single-level underground parkade. Construction is now underway with excavation complete, and the project is targeting completion in Q1 2027.

443 Clayton Street

Located just a short distance away, this six-storey, 116-unit senior housing development will also feature a single-level underground parkade. The project has begun excavation and is scheduled for completion in Q4 2027.

Together, these developments will provide quality housing for more than 150 senior residents, helping address the growing need for accessible and affordable homes in the community.

As both projects entered the excavation phase, our team coordinated the installation of BC Hydro temporary service poles and will be supplying our own 600V, 400A temporary power distribution units. Taking ownership of temporary power planning and equipment helps ensure construction begins efficiently, reduces delays, and eliminates the need for clients to manage generators during the early stages of the project.

We’re grateful to VanMar Constructors for the opportunity to partner on these two meaningful developments and are excited to begin building what we hope will be a long-lasting relationship.
